    *Advanced ELL Institute

For a more in-depth experience, NISL offers an advanced version of the ELL Institute that has the following components:

    1. Eight hours of pre-work involving online assignments, reading, and research.
    2. Two days of face-to-face interactive instruction (similar in content to the regular Institute).
    3. About 16 hours of fieldwork over a 3-month period.
    4. Another day of face-to-face interactive instruction.

For districts or states that want to train multiple cohorts, NISL recommends training several leaders to become certified NISL facilitators. This method allows organizations to build internal capacity while reducing the cost of training. The cost of certifying each trainer is $1,000 above the base Institute price. To become a certified NISL trainer, a candidate must undergo facilitator training in several extra sessions before, during, and after the Institute. A NISL faculty member then attends the candidate’s first session as facilitator to observe and coach the new trainer. Once certified, the trainer can train other principals for just $350 per participant. This covers the cost of materials plus a license to utilize the training materials.

NISL can conduct the Institute at a school district facility or work with you to find a suitable off-site venue. The Institute costs do not include facility rental fees, lunch or refreshments, IT services, or any travel or lodging expenses for participants.

Contact NISL to obtain a price quote and to schedule an Institute for your organization.
