A Cost-Effective Approach For States And Districts

Research shows that the two most important factors leading to improved student achievement are strong teachers and strong principals. Since one leader has the potential to bolster the quality of instruction school-wide, investing in professional development for principals may be the most cost-effective way for districts to improve student learning and achievement on a large scale.

NISL designed its Executive Development Program with the bottom line in mind. NISL creates a unique implementation plan for each client, allowing a district or state to take advantage of its own economies. Moreover, fees are calculated so that district and state leaders know exactly how much to set aside for training.

The costs of implementing each of NISL's delivery methods are described below. Get more information about the benefits of each model.

    Train-the-Trainer

The train-the-trainer model is the most cost-effective way to provide NISL training to large groups of principals and build local capacity within a district or state. The cost for each participant is $15,750 per trainer and $5,250 per principal. Quantity discounts are available when the number of participating principals exceeds 75.

    Direct Training

Alternatively, NISL faculty members can train principals directly for $12,600 per participant. This allows principals to begin receiving professional development immediately and is the most cost-effective option for districts or states that wish to train only a few dozen principals.

    Hybrid Training

This alternative can significantly reduce the cost of training, while also providing local certified trainers with additional training and coaching in a live setting.
